FOUNDER
Ying Ying Yong brings over 20 years of experience designing and master planning hospitality facilities and custom homes in the U.S. and internationally. She has experience taking projects from the conceptual design phase through the Construction Document and Administration phase. Ying Ying’s recent work in the past years includes remodeling her own home in San Francisco, NDA projects, The Discovery Land Company community in North Shore Hawaii, Montage Residences Healdsburg, an organic farm compound in Carmel Valley, and the Herculaneum Museum in Naples, Italy.
Formerly an Associate at Backen Arrigoni & Ross Architects, Ying Ying is committed to advancing the firm's design dialogue and is the founder of the Design Café series and the Custom Homes and Hospitality Salons.
Currently a consultant to local interior designers and architectural firms.

Condo Remodel, San Francisco - Renovation of the 1990s’ 3-story, 2,400 sq. ft. condo penthouse with roof terrace in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood. Completion in February 2025.

Autism Community Workshop, Kreta Ayer, Singapore - Pro-bono project consisting of a workshop, retail, and multi-functional space to advance the inclusion of artists with developmental disabilities. Completed January 2023.
*North Shore Preserve, Kaua’i, HI (2021 - 2022) - Renovation of a 60,000 sq. ft. private clubhouse, surf house, sales gallery, and model homes within a secluded, low-key, private community. *In collaboration with NICOLEHOLLIS
Rancho Mantarraya, Costa Rica - Master planning of a self-sustained, off-grid, 334-acre hillside site with parcel subdivisions for ten families. Communal amenities include a saltwater pool, yoga and fitness center, artists’ studio, community kitchen/dining, and an organic farm. Four geodesic domes and yurts are planned for a future phase incorporating guest lodging. Unbuilt.
BAR Architects San Francisco, CA (2011-2021)
180 Townsend, San Francisco - Tenant improvement of a 40,000 sq. ft. historic building converted to tech offices south of Market.
901 Battery, San Francisco - Sustainable renovation of an 18,500 sq. ft. architectural studio designed to achieve LEED Gold certification. Concept Design through Construction Administration.
Montage Residences Healdsburg, CA - Master planning a 258-acre, 45-lot luxury residential development and designing 5 model home types from Schematic Design through Permitting, Construction Documents, and Bid Sets.
Custom Modular Home, Montage Residences Healdsburg, CA - A 5,000 sq. ft. modern, barn-like, single-family home on a fast-track schedule. Concept to Permit Submittal. Completion in 2022.
Private Clubhouse, Carmel Valley, CA - Conceptual Design for a new clubhouse and gatehouse for a 900-acre site zoned for high-end custom home lots and community amenities.
Herculaneum Museum, Naples, Italy - Conceptual site and building design of a new, 5,000 sq. m. museum and archeological center. A legacy project privately funded by The Packard Humanities Institute (PHI).
Yotel Hotel, San Francisco - Adaptive reuse of a 1908 historic building into an 87,000 sq. ft. 203-key concept hotel with coworking space, restaurant, bar, and cafe. Concept Design through Construction Administration.

Haiti Partner’s Children Academy, Port-au-Prince, Haiti - Pro-bono project consisting of a 38,000 sq. ft., fully off-the-grid center dedicated to children’s education and teacher training for Haitians living in remote villages.
